The resort of Polperro is featured in Judy Finnigan’s novel ‘I do not sleep’ which is set in the resort of Polperro. Our Crumplehorn Cottages are even mentioned in the book. A beautiful, poignant read.
A welcoming resort for over a hundred years - My great grandparents who lived on Talland Hill would welcome guests to stay in their family home for Bed and Board back in the 1800’s. Most were artists, who would book to lodge with them to come and capture on canvas the colours and way of life in the village. My Great Granfer Curtis had the fishing lugger boat, Lady Beatrice, fishing out of Polperro, my Great Gran looked after the guests and raised their 4 children.
Ideally placed for visiting Eden, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Fowey, secluded beaches, the Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, National Trust Stately Homes Lanhydrock, Antony, and Cothele, and the rest of Cornwall / south Devon.
