Great Walks in the Area

The towns of Looe and Polperro are located in the heart of Cornwall, England. These two quaint towns are surrounded by breath-taking scenery and offer a variety of great walks for visitors to enjoy.
 
One of the most popular walks is the walk from Looe to Polperro. This walk takes visitors along the coast, past rocky cliffs and secluded coves. There are also plenty of opportunities for wildlife spotting, including dolphins and seals.

Golitha Falls, St Cleer (Off B3254, Liskeard)

Distance: 3-6 miles
Difficulty: 6/10

Wonderful woodland walks by a tumbling river. Golitha Falls has pathways throughout for you to walk and explore. Care should be taken during heavy rainfalls, as the river can become fast flowing.

There is a super café, and W.C in the carpark at the start of the woods.

Hannafore, West Looe

Distance: 1 miles
Difficulty: 2/10

A dog friendly pebble and sand beach with a walkway for those not wanting to walk on the beach. There are toilet facilities and two cafes – Both serving wonderful home-cooked fayre. (From delicious cakes and cream teas, to pasties, soups, and crab sandwiches)

You can walk to the end of Marine Drive on Hannafore, which is where the coastal path starts to walk to Talland. (On road parking permitted whilst using the beach and cafes)

Port Nadler Beach, West Looe

Distance: 1 miles
Difficulty: 2/10

About a 20-minute walk along the coastal path from Hannafore at Looe. This National Trust Beach is accessed by a flight of wooden steps. Normally favoured by locals and quite quiet, as it’s off the beaten track.

Kilminorth Woods, West Looe

Distance: 3-6 miles
Difficulty: 5/10

Kilminorth Woods starts at the end of The Millpool Carpark at West Looe.

You can enter the woods via a wooden gateway and enjoy miles of woodland trails, great during the hot weather – as the trees provide shade to keep you cooler.

You can walk as far as Watergate on one path, then walk back on another – Super scenery hugging Looe River.

Lansallos Beach

Distance: 2 miles
Difficulty: 3/10

About a 20-minute drive west of Looe, just beyond Polperro.

Park in the National Trust Carpark (Free for members – Just scan your card)

Walk down through the hamlet, past the church – and follow the beautiful track down to Lansallos Beach.

See the pathway made of rock just before you walk onto the beach, worn smooth by the wheels of smugglers carts many years ago.

Talland Bay

Distance: 2 miles
Difficulty: 4/10

Talland Bay has two beaches, each with a seasonal café to enjoy.

Talland Sands requests that dogs are kept on the lead, Talland Beach by Rotterdam Cottage allows dogs off the lead.

You can walk TO Talland Bay along the coastal path from both Looe and Polperro.

The Wooldown, East Looe

Three fields with spectacular sea views across Looe Bay, Looe River, and St Georges Island.

Access is from Bay View Road, Barbican, East Looe. (Past the Spar Shop) on-road parking is available

A great place with a stunning view.

Seaton

Distance: 10 miles
Difficulty: 9/10

About 15 minutes’ drive from Looe, you’ll find Seaton Beach and Woodland Valley Trail, however you can walk from looe

There is a council carpark, two superb beach cafes, and W.C facilities.
